Consider A and B is a set,
If the elements/members of a set A are mapped to the elements/members of a set B, then a relation exist between sets A and B
There are 4 types of relation:
- One-to-One
- Many-to-One
- One-to-Many
- Many-to-Many
Type of relation between Set A and Set B is relation 'One-to-One'
set A is 'name' of a month and set B is 'sequence' of a month
For graph y = x, the relation is 'One-to-One' relation
A survey was conducted in a class to identify size of shoe of each student. Below is the result
if we mapped the table using Venn diagram, we can see that type of relation is 'Many-to-One'
A teacher in a class have performed an inspection for all stationary case in her class. Below is stationary found inside the case for each student using Venn diagram.
Type of relation for below Venn diagram is 'One-to-Many'
The last type of relation is many-to-many. Many-to-many means that multiple inputs map onto the same output, and inputs have multiple outputs.
